Serve at Church

Are you looking for a way to serve? It takes all kinds of skills and gifts to make a healthy church. There is a place for you here, and we’d love to help you take the next step into participating in this church body.

At Knox, church happens—especially each Sunday happens—because of a number of teams and the particular skills and gifts they offer. Here are a few of the teams and the kind of gifts or skills we’re looking for.

  • Greeters and ushers - welcoming, hospitable to new comers

  • Children’s ministry - love of teaching the faith and connecting with kids

  • Worship band and Choir - interest and skill in music, whether singing or playing an instrument, eager to lead people closer to God through music.

  • A/V - computer or soundboard interest or knowledge to help our sound and visuals run smoothly

  • Hospitality - at ease in the kitchen (whether making coffee or washing the dishes) and warmly serving people

  • Prayer - spiritual maturity, gifts of prayer and listening to the Spirit, and compassion

  • Library hosts - a love of keeping things organized and tidy, a keen interest in books

  • Translation - skills in another language that may be represented by visitors at Knox (ex. Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Portuguese, Spanish, Farsi…), patience and skill in translating

  • Visual story-telling - skills or interest in video, photography, writing, and communications media (web, social media, print)
