Mercy + Mission Forum: Responding to Panhandling

It’s a day to move beyond just talk; to gather as Christians in community and work out the practicalities of living Jesus’ justice, compassion, and mission every day.

The topic for this workshop will be Responding to Panhandling.
We’ll start with a guided discussion to share and shape our perspectives and knowledge with the help of Peter Duraisami, Chief Executive Officer of Scott Mission. Then we’ll share a simple and silent meal – a time of reflection and solidarity with the poor. Within the meal, we’ll prayerfully mark Communion together. To close our time, participants will be given Tim Horton’s gift cards to share with those panhandling or under-housed on the streets in designated parts of the city. Come dressed for the weather!

We hope this will be the first of many action days to come. All ages are welcome. Childcare (and learning!) provided.
