Leaders and key volunteers at Knox are invited to join in this important training led by our partners at Evangel Hall Mission. Trauma-informed pastoral care invites individuals and churchers to recognise the signs and symptoms of trauma, respond to trauma by using this knowledge in policies, procedures and practices and to resist re-traumatization. The focus of pastoral care “whether exercised by clergy or laity—is the personal welfare of persons who are hurt, troubles, alienated, or confused within” (source). Trauma-informed pastoral care is an important aspect of meeting Jesus’ command in John 15:12 to love one another.
