Run, Walk / Donate / Volunteer
So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt —Deuteronomy 10:19
The movement of peoples through migration and displacement is unprecedented in the 21st century. The world is seeing tremendous human movement and human suffering due to ethnic conflicts, wars, and poverty. With the influx of refugees in Canada, God has given us a ministry opportunity by supporting their resettlement. In collaboration with Adam House Refugee Shelter, Knox is organizing a Run with Refugees to raise funds for Adam House as it provides shelter and settlement support for refugees.
Will you join us to support refugees and Adam House?
Here’s how:
Register to run
Run, walk, bike — however you can best move through 6km or 8km of the city. There’s no fee to register and all ages are welcome! We’ll start at Adam House, near Dufferin Grove Park, and end at Booth House on Booth Ave in Riverside. There’ll be at least 1 water station on route and a BBQ celebration at the end. We will have the privilege to run and walk with friends from Adam House, too.
Spread the word and raise some funds
Share with friends, families, networks and ask them to consider helping Adam House reach their goal of $40,000! Follow us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for posts you can share, share, share. [ Here’s a sample email letter you can share, too ]
Volunteer with us
Can’t do the running but can pour a cup of water and clang a cowbell? Volunteer with the water and cheer team at Knox. Or maybe you’re a hobby photographer or videographer and want to help capture the event? Volunteers are very welcome to join in the BBQ celebration at Booth House at the end, too!
