Serve the World

How is God calling you into his great mission of redeeming the world?

For over 200 years, Knox has been welcoming and sending people to join in God’s redemption mission, sharing the good news of Jesus through word and deed, all over the world. We believe that as followers of Jesus, we are all called to participate in God’s mission and we’d love to help you explore your place it in all!

Our 4 Missions Priorities

Four strategic mission priorities focus our mission funding and partnerships. We believe these are the specific areas of mission God desires us to focus on.

Diaspora Ministry

To participate in gathering people from cultural groups and nations into the kingdom of God is a biblical calling. We do this through supporting outreach to international students, refugees, or immigrant communities, leading discipleship or outreach activities to diaspora groups or communities, and providing shelter support for refugees.

Student Ministry

Our church is uniquely positioned to support student ministry: we are neighbours to a world-class university that brings in thousands of students and academics from all over the world. Through supporting organizations and leaders that are mobilizing, mentoring, serving students and creating vision trip opportunities we live into our calling to influence such formative years of self-discovery and faith in the lives of young adults.

Justice & Mercy Ministry

Throughout the Bible, we see a God who understands the value and dignity of each human life, and who desires that all people flourish. And so we support and partner with organizations that work towards justice for black and/or indigenous communities in Canada, work to transform marginalized communities in other countries, seek reconciliation, pursue anti-racism efforts, and focus on creation care.

Muslim Ministry

God is revealing himself in countless ways among our Muslim neighbours despite numerous barriers. In recent years, our community witnessed more and more Muslim-background brothers and sisters decide to follow Jesus despite the great personal costs. Through supporting church planting work in predominantly Muslim areas and countries and participating in mission activities in Canada that specifically serve Muslim communities we lean into the opportunities that the Spirit is opening to us.

Missions Committee

These volunteers and staff oversee the our strategic mission plans, financial applications, and care of our supported missionaries. Jeff Bloom (Chair), Sabrina Simmons (Session Rep), Matthew Bodkin, Deby Chatterjee,
Nancy Howard, Hazel Mucio, Karen Williams.
