GROW WITH US

Heavy Burdens Book Discussion

Join in this book discussion to grow with us. As we read and discuss Heavy Burdens, by Bridget Eileen Rivera, we’ll gather to seek to understand the history of sexuality and marriage in the church (it's fascinating!) and hear the stories of LGBTQ2I+ Christians, who hold a variety of convictions around sexuality and marriage, some who have remained in the church and others who haven't, but who have graciously shared their experiences in order to help us be the church we hope to be. Read more here.

2 options for you to join this 6 week study:

  • IN-PERSON | Sundays at 1:30-2:30pm, optional lunch before. Starts May 22.

  • ONLINE | Mondays at  7:30-8:30pm.

Volunteer Opportunities

As things open up, we have more and more opportunities to work and serve together! Here are some key areas we’re recruiting for.

Sunday Children’s Ministry / Sundays at morning worship

We have a number of kids with us every Sunday and Pr. Frances is busy reshaping our kids ministry for this new season. If you’re interested in volunteering with our Kid’s min on Sundays, contact Pr. Frances, frances@knoxtoronto.org.

ESL Teaching / Monday evenings

Did you know we have over 30 students in-person and 50 students online in our ESL program each week. What an opportunity to support newcomers and international visitors!  We’re looking for friendly leaders who love kind conversation, making friends across cultures, learning about culture and languages, and willing to grow in facilitation skills. Apply to join our ESL team here

After-Worship Hospitality / Sundays at morning worship

More and more we are able to stick around after the service to connect and we’d love your help to host this special time to linger after worship. In the coming weeks, we’ll be able to offer coffee, tea and lemonade more frequently. To help out, email Pr. Natasha, natasha@knoxtoronto.org.

Doors Open / Saturday, May 28 + Sunday, May 29

Our doors are open for this city wide event and we’d love a crew to host our space. If you like to help us host, contact Myrna Talbot.

Community Outreach Celebration BBQ / Wednesday, June 8 @ 12noon

This spring marked the conclusion of 20+ years of walking with vulnerable community members through the Knox Youth Dinner & Food Bank. The community and relationships formed through this ministry are deep and there’s much to celebrate as we bring the program to a close. Join the celebration in the Knox yard! Do you have midday availability? Consider blessing ministry participants through grilling, food serving, or joining in the meal and warm conversation. Sign up to help at servingatknoxcommunitybbq.eventbrite.ca. Contact Pr. Nestor with any questions, nestor@knoxtoronto.org.

Knoxapalooza / Sunday, June 12 after 11am worship

We’ll be hosting our big community BBQ to celebrate the end of the ministry year and beginning of summer, after morning worship. We’ll be looking for help closer to the date, details coming!
