A note about worship this season from Rev. Nick
Dear church,
It’s been wonderful to worship in person with some of you over these last months, and to continue to worship with many more gathered online! With renewed restrictions announced, and a surging presence of COVID-19 in our province, many of our ministries are moving to online-only. We wanted to let you know why we will continue to offer an opportunity for in-person worship in our church following the current public health guidance.
For many in our community coming to worship in person allows them to see other people when they live alone, to be in a space that reminds them of God’s presence when they’ve struggled to feel it on Youtube, and to refresh their spirits after a wearying season of isolation. For the mental and spiritual well-being of many, this is an essential practice that we will strive to continue to make available.
We are adjusting some of our protocols for in person worship to help those who lead be safer and to ensure that those who gather are responding to screening questions which address our current reality. We are also aware that many who are able to will be choosing to join worship online, which is a wonderful way to continue to be a part of the worshipping life of our church, and will also help keep others safe as we navigate this wave of the pandemic.
Whether you’ll be worshipping with your family at home, by yourself in your bedroom, or in person in our sanctuary, we continue to trust that God’s Spirit unites our hearts together and that God receives our worship and ministers to us no matter where we are.
Your pastor + friend,
Nick
New precautions for worship in-person
If you or anyone in your household is sick with COVID symptoms or has been for the past 5-10 days (including runny nose or sore throat), you cannot attend in-person worship.
If you have symptoms (including runny nose or sore throat) or have been in contact with someone who has COVID or COVID symptoms without a medical mask, please stay home and follow public health guidelines to isolate for 5 days if you’re vaccinated, and 10 days if you’re not vaccinated.
The right mask is much more important! 3-ply non-woven or N95 (or equivalent) masks are required. If you’re unsure about your mask, we will provide you with a disposable mask to place on top of your mask when you arrive.
When you arrive, we’ll be actively screening worshipers outside before they enter the church. Please respect the advisement of our greeters as they do their best to keep our space of worship a safe one.
