Easter Flowers: Donations and Deliveries

One of my favourite childhood memories of Easter is the multi-sensory experience of walking into the church with my family early in the morning, usually hugging a new stuffed animal in my arms, and the luscious smell of Easter lilies dancing into my nose. Okay, it kinda punched me in the face a little, too, but I love lilies. And that is the smell of a resurrection party ready to get rollin’ to me.

Not every Easter, but many Easters at Knox, we take in some financial gifts to help us fill the front of the sanctuary with beautiful spring flowers. And even though only our worship team will physically be in the sanctuary to enjoy the smell (we hope no allergies!), we’ll all be able to feast our eyes on this delight of God’s creation just the same through our livestream.

We’ve got 2 ways you can join in the joy of sharing the beauty of resurrection-ripe flowers this year. Make a contribution (in memoriam, perhaps), and offering to delivery some afterwards. Here are the details!

1) Make a financial contribution to the Easter Flower order

Make a contribution to help uplift our sanctuary with the beauty and symbolic-hope of spring flowers for our Easter service. Consider making your contribution in memoriam to someone who’s passed on, if you’d like. Suggested contribution is $10/plant.

Or, if cheque is better for you: Cheques can be mailed to the church office. Cheques are payable to “Knox Presbyterian Church”, please write “Easter Flowers” in the memo and include a legible note the names of anyone you’d like to remember through this gift.

Knox Presbyterian Church, 630 Spadina Ave, Toronto, ON M5S 2H4

2) Pick up and deliver flowers to your neighbours

The first 10 people to contact Sam who can come by the church on Easter Sunday between 2:00-3:30pm:
You can pick up as many flowers as you can take to deliver to any folks you know who could use some cheer. Maybe folks in your village, maybe someone from work, a kind landlord, your mail-person… up to you!

Email sam@knoxtoronto.org right now to
win your spot to deliver some flower cheer!

(Any flowers left over, Sam will make sure are shared with our neighbours around the church block.)
