Come be a part of going to the nations!

At the end of March 2020, we will be sending a team of 4-6 members of our church to build relationships with a long-term team in Desert Valleys.*  The purpose of this trip will be to gain vision for the medical and educational work happening there, explore what a longer reciprocal partnership could look like, and serve in a practical way by putting on a conference for their workers, and Vacation Bible School for children.

Would you like to pray, learn, give, or go? Let us know your interest by emailing desertvalleys@knoxtoronto.org. You can also apply directly in this form.

Submissions will be reviewed after SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH, 2019.

Why are we doing this?

We are a church who has been loving the city and the world for a long time, and this is a new way that we are inviting the whole church to journey with us.

We see from all of the Scriptures that our God keeps reaching out to those who do not yet know Him, just as He reached out to us. We want to follow Him in reaching out to others, especially those who have limited access to the Gospel.

How did we get here?

We discerned with Pr. Phil, Pr. Nick, Elder Katie—with the blessing of KWM—the vision of cultivating a mission trip with a long-term partnership in mind.

Through a generous anonymous donation of $15,000 towards a Knox missions trip, we were greatly blessed with the opportunity to make this trip happen!

Why Desert Valleys?

  •  to build relationships with a long-term team; to explore what a longer reciprocal partnership could look like

  •  to gain vision for the medical and educational work happening there

  •  to serve practically at annual conference for workers, VBS for children

What professions are needed in this region?

Medical personnel, especially Dentists, Optometrists, Family medicine, and clinic managers; English Teachers, especially those who can come for a longer time (about 6 weeks)

Future: micro-enterprises E.g. Teaching refugees to sew and have a source of income

There are potentially other opportunities through local church-based service opportunities, but the ones mentioned above are the ones that our partner ministry most urgently needs to fill.

How can I be involved? Pray. Learn. Give. Go. Let us know!

Can children come?

Only members of Knox church who are 16 years of age or older and have parental consent can come. If you are a parent of young children and are called to apply to go and need help making arrangements, please let us know how we can help!
